Basic Monotheism Surah: Ibrahim (24)

A Good Word Like a Good Tree — Its Root Is Firm and Its Branch in the Sky

كَلِمَةٗ طَيِّبَةٗ كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ
— إبراهيم الآية 24
Verse: "A good word like a good tree — its root firm, its branch in the sky." (14:24) — "Good word" = laa ilaaha illallah. "Root firm" = monotheism in heart. "Branch in sky" = deeds rise to Allah. "Perpetual fruit" = renewed, not seasonal. The contrast: a corrupt word like an uprooted tree — no roots. Falsehood however large has no foundation. Lesson: every word is either a good tree or a corrupt one — roots are the deciding factor.
